Glace vive (Live Ice) captures the delicate tension between the evocative essence of life, water, and the ephemeral nature of tactile experiences. The piece suggests a moment suspended in time, where fluidity and transformation converge, yet remain elusive and fleeting. The shimmering blues and whites evoke the transient beauty of ice—alive in its frozen state, yet only accessible under rare, fragile conditions. This work explores the paradox of existence, where life’s most tangible sensations are also the most temporary, reminding us of the fleeting moments that shape our perception and understanding of the world around us. Created as part of the Segments approach, each loop immerses the viewer in the liminal space between reality and abstraction. Rendered from a custom performative system, each 100s 4K H.264 loop blends 3D structures, displacements, and transparency, creating layered depths and a sense of hovering motion.
