Orée de torpeur (Edge of Torpor) transports the viewer into a liminal space where layers of soft green fade into ethereal white, evoking the stillness between wakefulness and sleep. The subtle gradients of color hint at an emotional state caught between anticipation and a deep, inevitable regret. This piece explores the tension between life’s fleeting nature and the heavy weight of mortality, capturing the haunting quietude of introspection. As light and shadow blur, the work invites reflection on the delicate balance between the living, the dying, and the moments that define us. Created as part of the Segments approach, each loop immerses the viewer in the liminal space between reality and abstraction. Rendered from a custom performative system, each 100s 4K H.264 loop blends 3D structures, displacements, and transparency, creating layered depths and a sense of hovering motion.
