Brasier nocturne

Brasier nocturne (Nocturnal Blaze) transports viewers through a vibrant dance of light and heat, reminiscent of embers glowing in the depths of a fire. This work captures the dynamic interplay between form and movement, evoking the mesmerizing patterns of flickering flames. The scene conjures a sense of nocturnal tumult, where energy and calm coexist, adding a layer of mystery to the otherwise serene darkness. Created as part of the Segments series, each loop holds the viewer within the liminal space between reality and abstraction. Rooted in Sébastien Pitt’s Segments series, this artwork conjures dreamscapes that weave between perception and affect. Generated with a custom MAX8 patch for 3D audiovisual performance, each scene features 3D structures, vertex displacement, and transparency shaders, creating dynamic textures and layered depths with a 360° rotation at 0.01 Hz. Rendered at 4K horizontal @60fps in a 100 second loop with ProRes 4444 and CPU-compressed H.264 via FFmpeg.
